After a poor quality trailer leaked earlier today, Ubisoft has come forward and officially announced Assassin’s Creed Rogue, an upcoming game set in the Assassin’s Creed universe for the two last generation consoles that are still relevant.
In Assassin’s Creed Rogue, you play as Shay Patrick Cormac, an assassin who has – you’ve guessed it – gone rouge. This assassin-turned-Templar’s journey takes place during the 18th century, during the Seven Years’ War. During his travels, he’ll find himself in several North American locations, including the Appalachian River Valley, the North Atlantic, and even a “reimagined” New York.
According to Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Rouge will bring the North American saga to a close, which began with “fan-favorite” Assassin’s Creed III and continued on into Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The navel gameplay we know and love will also be making its return, as Cormac will use the high seas as his main form of transit.
While no release date has been announced, the recent leak implied it would be launching two weeks after Assassin’s Creed Unity on November 11. No PC version has been announced either, but more information will come to light in Game Informer’s September issue.
