PAX East 2013: BattleBlock Theater Interview

Battleblock Theater is releasing tomorrow. Tomorrow? Yes, tomorrow! The long-awaited 3rd game by the Behemoth will finally be making a splash on Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow! So let’s get down to the nitty-gritty and comb over those details before we all fork over our Microsoft Points.

The game will feature both single-player and co-op campaigns, with levels tailored to each mode, as well as multiplayer arena modes such as King of the Hill. The game will also release with a level editor, including the ability to share and download created levels from all across Xbox Live. The interesting thing is that the level editor is the exact same editor that the developers used to create the levels in the game, so this won’t be some watered-down editor like in Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Players can expect to unlock plenty of bits and bobs to customize their character over the course of the game, and since the arena and co-op modes are drop-in, drop-out, expect a menagerie of different avatars to appear. You’ll be able to enjoy the madcap craziness tomorrow on XBLA for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15 in normal-people terms).
