In The Lab: Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers

Welcome to Geekenstein’s In The Lab, our livestreaming show where we check out the latest and upcoming games to see if they’re worth your time and money. If you’ve been keeping an eye on the site, you know that we at Geekenstein love our point-and-click adventure games. Gabriel Knight is one of those franchises that is both well respected and looked at as an example of the worst aspects of the genre. Now writer Jane Jensen and Phoenix Online Studios have partnered to remake the original Gabriel Knight game for a whole new audience. Is Gabriel Knight something we didn’t even know we wanted, like the Monkey Island remakes, or is it another Cel Damage HD?

Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers is the first in the Gabriel Knight trilogy of games. Gabriel is a small time horror writer struggling to make a name for himself. He’s attached himself to the local police department while they investigate the “voodoo murders” plaguing New Orleans and named for their apparent voodoo connection. As he investigates further, he’ll find a web of conspiracy rooted in the ancient practice a voodoo and ties to a nightmare that has plagued him for his entire life.
