Welcome to In The Lab, Geekenstein’s livestreaming show where we check out the upcoming and newly released games to see if they’re worth your time and money. This time Alex and David go back to an old stand-by, DoubleDutch’s SpeedRunners. After all the watching of Minecraft clones we do, it’s nice to be able to have a good old fashioned head-to-head multiplayer experience.
SpeedRunners is the tinyBuild published, DoubleDutch developed competitive running game. While that may sound strange, this sidescroller that has you swinging around on a grappling hook, boosting, and picking up and using weapons against your opponents is more Mario Kart than Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. It’s also heavily community involved, with player created levels fully integrated into the experience.
