It’s a double-feature this week on Lonely Gods. First up, it’s The Seeds of Death, where the Ice Warriors have taken over a moonbase which serves as a transporter relay for the entire world. They’ve begun beaming down seed pods which cover the land in foam that sucks the oxygen out of the atmosphere. As famine and panic sets in, the reptilian invaders plan to use the moonbase as a beacon to guide their invasion fleet to Earth. The Doctor, Jamie, and Zoe blast off for the moon in an antique rocket to put a stop to the Martian shenangians.
Then, it’s The Space Pirates, the very last of the missing stories, with only 1 out of 6 episodes in existence. The TARDIS lands aboard a cargo vessel which is promptly attacked by space pirates. The ship breaks up into modular sections with the Doctor & pals separated from the TARDIS. They’re quickly swept up into a tale of space pirates, space police, space mining, and space prospectors and it’s the most painfully boring tale this series has ever produced. Not even joking.
