Chances are you already know about Slender: The Eight Pages. It’s a slightly terrifying indie game that looks like ass, but still managed to develop a strong cult following thanks to its dark presentation and jump scares. If you want more Slender, you’re in luck. Mark Hardy has announced that he and Blue Isle Studios are working together on a follow up called Slender: The Arrival.
Unlike the original, Slender: The Arrival will not be released for free. It’s going to be a full-blown commercial release with more levels, improved visuals and an “engaging storyline.” What’s more engaging that stumbling upon pieces of paper while getting stalked by a poorly rendered model based on the last great Internet mythos? I guess we will have to wait to find out.
Move over Jack Skellington! Following the release of the game, Slender merchandise is planned to hit Hot Topic in the form of hoodies, lunchboxes, T-shirts and underwear. Okay, I made that last part up; but all things considered, I could see that happening to the Slender franchise before this cow is milked dry. Kids love their Slenderman.
How do you feel about the current state of Slenderman fever? Are you looking forward to the sequel?
